Polished Concrete

Polishing concrete is an economical, and environmentally friendly process of mechanically grinding and polishing concrete utilizing industrial bits with impregnanted diamonds and hardeners. It is the perfect application for; commercial & business facilities, industrial plants, warehouses, retail locations, showrooms, schools, museums, and government buildings.

Cost savings - Traditional floor covering materials are not necessary when the slab on grade is used as the finished floor surface.

Longer life cycle savings - Polished floors are not as vulnerable to damage as other floors, and does not need replacing.

Easy to clean - Polished concrete won’t harbor dirt, dust, or allergens

Variety of colors - Colors can be mixed to create custom blends to find the shade that's just right.

Tough - Highly resistant to foot traffic.

High light reflectivity - Important for office buildings and other public facilities that want to project a bright, clean, professional image. Will increase room brightness by 20%.

Sustainability - Polished concrete does not require hazardous coatings, cleaners, or adhesives .

Epoxy Systems

Epoxy flooring is a unique floor material that has steadily grown in popularity. Once a concrete floor has been smoothed and prepped, a resin and a hardening chemical are mixed together. The chemical reaction will turn the mixture into a hard plastic floor over a few days.

So the compound is poured onto the concrete and allowed to harden before a second or third layer is applied. This liquid to solid process gives epoxy flooring the ability to be strong, stain resistant, and more. Its most popular uses are in hospitals, schools, garages, and industrial environments. But it can be just as useful for residential living rooms, kitchens, or other rooms types.

Durability - An epoxy coating makes floors resistant to a number of substances such as acids, chlorine, bleach, fire, oil, and gas.

Protective - Once the epoxy has been cured to a solid polymer it becomes incredibly strong and prevents chemical breakdown; It also protects the underlying concrete from moisture, stains, grease, and cracks.

Application - Epoxy flooring is usually quickly installed, which means less time shutting down production for installation.

Hygienic - Epoxied floors don’t have any joints, creases, or pores for dirt and bacteria to sink into. As a result, pathogens and other microscopic organisms are less likely to spread in an environment with epoxy floors.

Variety of Styles - The shine of an epoxy floor creates a high-end finish that can be customized to suit a variety of styles and applications. Epoxy is available in numerous colors to suit any design requirements. It can also be used to create a marbled effect or combined with vinyl flakes for a speckled effect.

Safety - These coatings are also resistant to slippage, temperature, extreme impact and even fire, maintaining both the safety of your employees and your building.

  • Metallic – Metallic epoxy is a special multi-layered epoxy floor coating system that incorporates the use of a metallic additive mixed into a clear epoxy coating to create exotic effects. This metallic powder continues to move through the epoxy as it cures creating the lava flow or pearlescent design.

  • Flake – This type of epoxy floor contains colored flake materials that are inserted in the epoxy to create a vibrant, multi-hued look. The flakes not only offer a seamless look but also provides each surface with subtle grooves to reduce any slips and falls. Epoxy flake floors come in an infinite variety of sizes, colors, styles, and textures that is customizable for any space.

  • Self Leveling – Self-leveling epoxy is utilized to apply over new, old, cracked, or damaged concrete floors to create a smooth, durable, and a leveled texture on the surface of the floor. Self-leveling epoxy floors not only provide a shiny, seamless look but it comes in many different colors that appeal to commercial, industrial, and residential spaces.

  • Epoxy Mortar – This flooring option classifies as the most stringent epoxy floor system available for use. This epoxy floor is made up of 100% solid epoxies and graded or quartz sand. Mortar systems are ideal for spaces that require a floor that is highly chemically-resistant and can withstand a great deal of impact. This epoxy floor can be used to repair cracks before applying another type of epoxy floor.

  • Quartz – Quartz epoxy flooring is a combination of a high-performance epoxy polymer resin and stained quartz grains. This epoxy should is utilized for decorative spaces that require sanitary and slip-resistant properties.

  • Anti Static – Electrostatic discharge can be hazardous to many work environments. To reduce any static hazards in your spaces, anti-static epoxy floors can be applied. This epoxy floor typically holds a conductive compound that accumulates static electricity that dissipates any potential discharge. An anti-static solution is a highly recommended epoxy floor for spaces that contain flammable materials.

Tile Etching

Often used in restaurants, tile can be susceptible to grease, oil, or just dirty water making it very slippery. We come in and etch the tile with acid to make it more porous, and more safe in turn less slippery.

Traction - Tile can often be extremely slippery when wet. Etching the tile will increase the amount of traction you get when the tile is wet or dry.

Cost - Tile etching is a very cost friendly alternative to replacing an entire floor because of safety and slip hazards

Credibility - Once the tile has been etched we test the floors coefficient of friction and print out a receipt that provides courtroom credibility.

ANSI (American National Standard Institute) was founded in 1918 with the mission “to enhance both the global competitiveness of U.S. business and the U.S. quality of life by promoting and facilitating voluntary consensus standards and conformity assessment systems and safeguarding their integrity.”

NFSI (National Floor Safety Institute) is a 501(c) (3) not-for-profit organization. NFSI was founded in 1997 with the intention of preventing slip-and-fall accidents by educating the public and businesses through informative programming, research, training, and product certification.

Tests

  • ANSI B101.3 DCOF Test – A recent U.S. standard using the BOT-3000E digital tribometer, mostly indoors. Based on slip and fall research.
  • ANSI A137.1 (aka “DCOF AcuTest”) DCOF Rating Test – Specified in 2012 International Building Code for indoor wet areas. (Similar to ANSI B101.3. Requires a 0.42 minimum “passing” value and more stringent sensor prep.)
  • ASTM C 1028-07 SCOF Test – Some specifiers still require it.
  • ASTM E 303-93 Road Skid Test – An American skid test for road surfaces.
  • ANSI A326.3 –  This test is primarily a wet test where a 0.42 DCOF rating or greater is considered the minimum for level indoor floors that are expected to get wet in use.

Staining and sealing

Staining imparts a luxurious richness that can't be achieved by any other coloring medium. Rather than produce a solid, opaque effect like paint, stains permeate the concrete to infuse it with luminous, translucent tones that vary depending on the surface they are applied to and the application techniques used. The results can mimic everything from polished marble to tanned leather to natural stone or even stained wood.

Custom metallic epoxies

Metallic epoxy comes in numerous colors and gives off an exotic sparkle thanks to the metal flakes in the product. Although metallic epoxy floors are especially popular for commercial spaces such as restaurants, retail stores, and showrooms, they can be installed anywhere you want a floor that makes a statement.

Engraving

Concrete engraving, or concrete etching, is the use of special tools and equipment to make patterns and designs in existing concrete. Unlike toppings or overlays, engraving is a permanent treatment that won't wear away or lose bond because the patterns are carved into the concrete rather than applied on top of it. When the concrete is further enhanced by staining, the decorative possibilities are truly spectacular.

Resurfacing

About to put in a new floor or just wish you could go back to a clean slate? We come in and mechanically
grind the floor with diamond bits to remove topical marks and resurface any concrete slab.

Power washing

Grime builds up constantly, we have a heated power washer to make sure we can completely clean whatever has gotten dirty including porchs, driveways, sidewalks, decks, or even the tile in your home.

Slip testing

All too often we hear of someone slipping and falling and the lawsuits come pouring in. Floors in commercial business are supposed to meet certain standards set by the NFSI (National Floor Safety Institute) we have a
machine that can read the coefficient of friction. Letting us know if the floor is a slipping hazard. A printout from said machine increases courtroom credibilty.

Marble & Travertine Polishing

Regular polishing and cleaning of marble flooring can prevent damage and keep the marble looking just like new. Marble floors require special cleaning and polishing to ensure that the surface of the stone remains smooth and free of any stains.
